Chemical Peels: Restore & Refresh

Nadia Lam

Autumn is a perfect time to recover from Summer’s environmental aggression and to prep the skin for Winter’s harsher climate.  Damage during Summer can result in cellular build-up on the skin’s surface and needs the dead skin cells to be removed effectively for a much more smoother, healthier appearance.

Glycolic Acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane.  It is used to dissolve the bond between the cells which helps with the exfoliation of dead skin cells revealing the next layer of the skin, leaving a smoother and healthier-looking complexion.  It also improves the skin’s hydration by enhancing its moisture absorption and increasing the skin’s ability to bind water.

Glycolic Acid is an intensive peel that visibly improves the appearance of the following:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Age spots – visibly brightens the surface pigmentation
  • Oily, impure skin and large pores
  • Dull skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Sagging skin

Salicylic Acid is a type of Beta Hydroxy Acid and comes from the medicinal part of the willow tree called the inner bark.  It is for acne prone skin and helps to reduce the visible acne signs.  It is especially recommended for oily skin and helps to remove dead cells, while stimulating cellular renewal.  Salicylic Acid is an efficient way to improve the epidermis texture, providing an anti blotching effect.  It has real antiseptic and purifying properties which are particularly efficient for acne prone skin.

Mandelic Acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid extracted from bitter almonds.  It is proved to be an effective ally for skin renewing.  Thanks to its exfoliating, peeling and delicate action, it soothes and reactivates epidermis cells.  It is effective in the treatment against the most common cases of skin imperfections such as photo aging, uneven pigmentation and acne.  It can be used all year round as there is no risk of hyper pigmentation.

Pumpkin & Pomegranate Enzyme Peel is a gentle peel that contains a natural enzyme, Pumpkin, Pomegranate Extract, Lactic Acid, Chamomile Extract and Rose Clay.  It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.  Enzymes help slough off dead skin cells while moisturizing and rejuvenating the look of the skin, resulting in a healthy, glowing complexion.  For best results, it is used with a steamer or a warm, wet compress for 10-15 min followed by extractions, if needed.
